Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Ran with my brother today. It was beautiful, much hillier than I am used to of late, and I think I was a little tired from my LR on saturday. My brother is really fit and it was tough! 6:17 average, but faster after some warm up miles at the beginning.

8 miles with my brother. Yesterday I was exposed to a lot of ozone (long story) and some more bad sleep meant I just felt trashy. 7:39 pace (no real hills either) and just did not feel great.

Trail run in Cle Elum, Washington. Still feel very tired (6:44 pace) but probably better than yesterday and I finally had an uninterrupted sleep which is huge.

Cool run around the area. Didn't appear that fast on the map, but that might not be quite accurate and anyway I wasn't even sure if/how far I could run after my injury yesterday.

Last run in WA on Iron Horse Trail. I considered driving there and probably should have because you lose 250 feet total on the way out, almost all of it on the journey to get to the trail itself on a busy road without a shoulder. Felt kinda tired the whole way back, especially there. 6:20 pace. It was pretty though.
