Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Classic MLR. Hip felt better. Could be because yesterday I had off. Hopefully it is because it is actually healing. Question: would it be easier to get 80 miles by running three doubles this week and nine miles each morning run, with a 16.5 mile long run? Or to run this same route every day, not do any doubles, and run 15 on Saturday? I'm not sure. This run doesn't ever feel that tiring. Maybe it's because it is Monday. Just food for thought.

PM: 5 miles after work. Felt a little hypoglycemic and I trodged through to the end. That is never any fun, but it does make eating afterward amazing. Hip hurt still.

SF canal trail with byu. Didn't feel so good. Nice to run with team again.

Trek update: Coming up on Gillete, Wyoming, where we will spend our first night of the trip (548 miles in). Long ways to go, as we will see next week.
