Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Boom island, 6:45 pace. Didn't feel too bad after having raced.

East river flats, 6:50 pace. Nice rain this morning. Went at 6:15 and it was light as if it were 8 am! That must have made it easier to go running at that time.

Feeling very stressed the past couple days. Whether this contributed more to me feeling tired today or race recovery, I don't know. 7 minute pace.

9 miles on farmers fields, about 7 minute pace but felt good. Rainy day, it was the best type of run.

Surprised to have run only 7 minute pace starting with the fam on diagonal. Maybe still getting back into it.

Quiet, overcast Saturday morning run in the mid 60s through a beautiful place. What more could you ask for? I guess these were the running conditions I was paying for over the winter. I was again surprised by how slow I went. Oh well. It was a cool but slow course- getting on East river road via East river flats, then finishing up running down the trail at Shadow falls (St Thomas jut) for the first time.

I wonder if my old shoes are making my tendons hurt. I'm excited to get new ones after my trip.
