16 miles at noon. It was about 63 degrees when I left, and about 70 when I got back 2 hours later. It felt great when I left, but was too warm when I got home. I didn't know how many miles I was going to do when I started, but I knew it would be at least 13. I thought if I am going to go out 6.5, I might as well go out 7. If I am going to go out 7, I might as well go out 7.5. And if I am going to go out 7.5, I might as well go out 8. I didn't want to do anymore, because I dont want to push myself too much and get hurt again. I felt good for most of this run. For some reason my right nostril was bleeding for most of the time, but I only noticed it when I would fire a rocket or wipe it. I had plenty of energy, and if it didnt get too warm I feel like I could have gone a lot further. I wasn't trying to go very fast, but about 7:30's felt really comfortable, which is about 15-20 seconds faster than what usually feels easy. 1 |

10 miles with Crystal at 5:15 am. I am glad I went with Crystal today, my right knee feels a little sore from yesterdays run, so it was good to slow down a little bit. Crystal did really good. I am impressed that she just keeps moving forward despite knee and stomach pains.
This was a long run for her, so we were taking it nice and easy.
Avg 10:52
Max HR 159
Avg HR 114
This was about a minute slower per mile than she did her 10 miles a few weeks ago, but her knee was bothering her more during this run. She did great. |

12 miles at 10:20 in the afternoon. My third class was canceled, and I have about an hour break before my fourth class, so I got my run in. On Wednesday I had a hard time slowing down, so today I started out thinking of trying to hit about 8 minutes miles. I averaged 7:46's, but thats about 10 seconds slower than Wednesdays run. I wanted to go slower today because I am doing a tnirps (backwards sprint) tri tomorrow. This run went well, I was pleased with my time. I felt good the whole time, and could have done more.

| | Today I did my first triathlon. It was a reverse tri. Started out with 3.1 mile run, then 12 mile bike, and finished with a 600 yard swim. There were 4 heats, and about 15 people in my heat. I took 3rd in my heat, and don't know what place overall. But I wasn't racing anyone, I was just trying to enjoy my first triathlon. The run had a good sized hill about half way. I finished the run in first, by about 20 seconds. The biking portion was on stationary bikes. I thought the bikes were calibrated for resistance-miles, but I learned at about mile 6 that it was just revolutions. I then released all the tension and tried to pedal as fast as I could. The first 6 miles really killed my time. I took a GU and some gatorade on the bikes. I was fourth coming off of the bikes. I am not a strong swimmer, but I had a few weeks of practicing a little while ago. I finished 3rd in my heat with a time of 59:16. It was a lot of fun, and I am positive it won't be my last triathlon.
