Early morning tempo workout with Becca. I was so glad to have a partner! We met at Liberty Park at 5:30 this morning. My workout was 5-3-2 miles with five minutes in between. I realized that all these years I have been going off the marked half miles, I had been fudging the workout a bit. You have to stay right on the perimeter for accuracy. So, I went off my Garmin, because I am addicted to it.

5 mile: Goal pace 6:20-30. 6:19, 6:16,6:14,6:24,6:07. 6:16 average.

3 mile: Goal pace 6:10-15. 6:12, 6:08,6:09. 6:10 average.

2 mile: Goal pace 6:00-6:05. 5:55,5:57 5:56 average.

I was toast after the two mile. Quick five minute cooldown.

Good ten miles of intervals. I was wondering if I could run 10-12 straight at 6:15-20. I'm pretty sure I could because I felt really comfortable unless I started dipping below 6:10. 5:55 was NOT comfortable.

I'm doing a marathon paced half marathon next week. That should be a good indicator of how comfortable 6:15-20 is.
