Last speed work before the marathon.  Ran 2.5 miles easy over to Hurricane High then did 3x 800 @ Yasso Pace, then 2.5 easy miles home

1-2:46- to slow, felt like I was still warming up

2-2:40 this felt better

3-2:43 Didn't push it too hard

According to the Yasso 800s idea, your marathon time should be around the same time you can run a set of 10 x 800's with 400m recovery.  So a 2:43 average on the 800s according to Yasso would put a person in the range to run 2:43:00 in a marathon.  Anyway, the last two years I did 800 repeats, but this year I switched and have been doing 1000 CV repeats which I've found to be better for me.  However, today I just wanted to run a few 800s to see where I'm at, and if I was to predict my marathon time off this workout I could be anywhere from 2:40 to 2:46 in the marathon, which seems about right.  A marathon is a long distance so lots of things can happen, but I'm going to go out focusing on running a PR.
