Ran with the club tonight. Before I left with the group I did a 3 mile warm-up 1.5 miles up state road 18 on the bike path and then 1.5 back down. 7:50 average.

Then did 3 easy miles warm-up and I knew Steve was going to do about 6 miles of tempo pace, and I had been planning on doing about 4 since I haven't done any faster stuff so far this week. I was pretty pleased with the miles I ran at tempo pace. A little disappointed the last few miles as I stopped to get a drink then ran the last bit uphill alone. My legs started to cramp up a bit, but overall a decent run, except for my Hunan's Chinese Buffet from lunch that gave me stomach problems on and off the entire run. Overall average was 7:22 so pretty good.

Tempo miles

1-6:07- feeling pretty relaxed

2-6:14- feeling fine

3-6:28- had to slow down a bit trying to get onto the far way at the golf course

4-6:48- some tough hills to climb here, but the effort felt more like 6:15 or faster.

I think the 13 miles tonight, is the longest run I've done since November, so that is a positive, still I need to be doing more. I really felt like I had two good weeks, then I got sick last week and took a step back. Anyway hoping to hit 50 miles this week and then maybe bump it up a little the following week. By March I would like to be running at least 60 miles a week, and then 70 miles a week in April. I really think if I can be more consistent this spring it will help me have a better base and routine going into the summer, when I can try to run a little higher mileage maybe.

Awesome run Dustin! You looked very comfortable on the tempo miles. Also I forget you had already ran some miles before the club run. How is your hip feeling?

Way to get those miles in yesterday! It was a fun run. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to us kicking some butt this year.

Is steve talking about Kicking our Butt! I am so worried! Im use to him kicking mine, But you better look out?

From Dustin on Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 14:40:02

Steve is looking pretty strong and I hope he can continue to remain injury free and have some good races this year. I would really like to see him be able to have a good marathon soon. I think everyone has gotten better in the short few years we've been running together.
