Dude, just stop it. On behalf of those of us who can't run trails every day (week), please act a little bit miserable. Even if I know you're not, it might make me not quite as jealous.

How's the knee? Since I've been through similar, thought I'd add my penny-and-a-half. I got a slight tear in my MCL while skiing late 2009. Seemed like I would tweak it about twice a month for almost all of 2010. When it got tweaked, usually took a couple of days to calm down, then I could run pain free again, until the next time. Took almost a year, but eventually it mellowed to where it is a total non-issue now. My Ortho is not a knife guy, so he said to keep running and doing my thing if I could stand it. At this point I'm glad I skipped the surgery. Too many ski buddies have more post-op issues that seem worse than the problem they had in the first place. Best of luck.

Jon- I guess I could whine that I have to drive 10 mins to get to the trailhead. boo hoo....

Bryce- I think you hit it on the head. That is exactly what happens. I do something to tweak it and it hurts for a few days and then gets better. I endlessly cycle through that loop. I don't think it is bad enough for surgery anyways. "Yeah doc, my knee hurts if I run 20 miles in the mountains as hard as i can. It is really bad!"

I'll remember your pity in Jan, Feb, and March when I'm still running on my snow-free mountains...
