Big Workout - This afternoon I joined Jon for a big workout. The plan was 4 mile warmup, 8 miles of tinman tempo pace (6:15 ish) then cooldown home. I could tell within a mile of the warmup that things were going to get rough. It was warm (80's) out and my legs were LEAD. The tempo portion began OK, but by mile 2 I was done. Or so my mind and legs were telling me. We ran on the TOU backwards starting at mile 19 (for the tempo portion) so we got some decent hills in both directions. My splits were very different from Jon's since he stopped for a pit stop and almost caught me then quickly dropped me in spite of me taking a quick breather in the shade to try and recover a bit at mile 6 of the tempo.

As you can see, things got ugly quickly. Just one of those days. The effort was there though. Hopefully, I can recover by saturday and run a great half. I feel like I ran a marathon right now. Awful. T-1:44:48 (6:59) 159 ave 175 max (averaged 168-172 during the tempo)
