AM: Slow mile getting going this morning in 8:30 to meet with Paul.  We ran the Landfill loop together shooting the breeze.  Picked it up a bit from my first mile.  Nice morning for a run.

Total Time: 52:20 (7:29) 7 miles 145 ave

PM: River trail with Paul, Jon, and Dan.  Sluggish on the uphills and much better down.  Typical.

Total Time: 55:36 (7:56) 7 miles 150 ave

I always wonder how you can run the same run with someone and have such different splits.  If you compare my time to Paul's there is an 11 second per mile difference, but we ran together.  It happens every time, I swear.  Weird.

It is what happens when you put too much faith in your satellite gods, Cody.

From Cody on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 at 23:24:09

Oh, but they are never wrong. I CAN do a 20 second mile, just watch me. Its the timing gods I worry about. As it is the TIME that is off, they are the ones messing with me.

From Jon on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 at 23:28:12

Are they slowing time down for you? Some superhero type of thing? Just admit that my watch is better than your, and 15% the price!

From Cody on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 at 23:35:13

Oh, come on Jon you could time your runs with a sundial...do you really need a watch?

From Jon on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 at 23:55:55

Ouch.

From Jon on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 at 23:56:47

But what would I use for my early morning runs with no sun? The rotation of the stars?

From Cody on Tue, Aug 14, 2007 at 10:18:38

You spend so much time staring at the sky, I would hope you have every constellation memorized. I would trust you to find your way home from anywhere in the northern hemisphere as long as you could still see shooting stars.

From Cody on Tue, Aug 14, 2007 at 12:58:43

I hope that your skin is as thick as my sarcasm as this could be perceived as mean. Lousy conscience seems to get to me after a while...Sometimes

From Jon on Tue, Aug 14, 2007 at 13:43:09

What, were you trying to insult me somewhere in there? I hadn't noticed- you'll have to try harder next time. Too busy staring at the stars, I guess... :)
