Workout day. Young Ward Loop (10.1). No rain/sleet/snow so it was a good sign. Started out with two warmup miles with a slight downhill. I was surprised how easy the sub 7 pace felt. (6:44 and 6:35). The goal of the workout was 6:10-6:20 Tinman tempo pace for 5 miles. It went pretty well with a 6:16,6:17,6:17,6:20,6:15. I was tired by the 6:20 and pushed harder on for the last one. I jogged to recover and within .25 I was back cruising at 6:40 pace easily. It was surprising how good 6:40 feels after 6:15. Weird. I was only planning on staying below 7min pace to finish but I hit a 6:40 and decided to try and stay under 6:30 average pace for the run. My next mile was on the slippery planet walk and things went downhill quickly. 6:56. I kicked it back up once I was back on the road to catch the 6:30 guy and took care of him pretty easily. 6:22 pace for the last 1.1. I need to check my garmin history but I believe this is a course record or at least close.

PM: 2 mile shakeout on the treadmill late in the evening.  Slow

Nice workout this morning, it appears you are coming back very nicely from the injury you had early in the year. I think it will be another year of PR's.

Thanks Dustin! I am hoping for some good success this year. I hope to see you up north here for a few races this spring/summer
