Big workout day.  AKA Tempo run death march.  I ran from my house (starting at 5:10am) to the TOU course and jumped on it going backwards.  I did 5 miles warmup (7:24, 7:05, 7:06, 7:04, 6:50).  That brought me to about mile 18 of the course (on the HWY).  I then proceeded to attempt to run tinman tempo pace (6:20-6:30)  2.5 miles up the course then the whole 7.5 miles home.  I went: 6:30, 6:40, 6:29(half up then turned around), 6:22, 6:27,6:49, 6:46, 6:35, 6:31, 6:24

I am happy with the results as I am still sick (but getting better) and felt weak.  The 6:40's were uphill so not a big deal.  The 6:30's should have been faster, but it was all I could do today.  I am still worried about crashing in St George like I did in Ogden, so the more workouts I can do like this for the next 3 weeks the better.

Total Time: 1:41:00 (6:44) 164 ave (tempo miles in 168-175 range)

Good workout. Crashing and burning doesn't happen with the kind of volume and workouts you are doing. Way to get up 15 miles on your workout days. I think you will see a big difference over Ogden because of that.

The shoes worked out pretty well. No blisters or anything. Thanks again.

Awesome job babe. You know anything over 3 miles is impressive to me, but this is incredibly impressive. Especially cuz I know how sick you are.

Glad to see you get some kudos from other bloggers too.

Hey Bethany, do you run, too? Why don't you set up a blog...we need more girls on this blog. I'm with you on the whole further than 3 miles is death, but still, at least I'm getting faster and healthier. There are several of us on this blog who are married to running maniacs, we can offer each other support. (Like how can our sweet hubbies have the energy to run 18 milers, and yet not be able to find the energy to mow the lawn once a week? He he he.)

Jeez Cody, great run considering you are sick.

Hey Lybi

Fun to have a comment directed at me! Thanks! I should join the blog, if just to chat with my hubby. He is so much more conversational on here than in person :)

That is great you are getting into running. I would like to and may try to yet. (excuse alert) it is just hard with a two year old and a baby. We'll see. YOu do inspire me though. Great job

PS

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a tinman tempo pace?

Bethany,

You are sitting next to me watching tv right now. Should I answer you question on the blog or in real life??

From Bethany on Thu, Aug 30, 2007 at 22:32:02

Not nice. I can hunt and peck better than a chicken.
