We did in fact go out to a Mexican restaurant last night. I completely avoided the chips and salsa. I had just one taco, about 1/3 of my refried beans (and the one chip that was stuck in them), and about two bites of my daughter's grilled chicken. I had water to drink. I figure I got out of that restaurant with under 500 calories for the meal.

I did the shred this morning. I figure one more week at level 1 and then I'll move up to level 2. I'm managing to do the shred only twice/week. I think I should do 3 times/week, but it's going to be hard enough to keep the twice/week going let alone move up to 3 times/week while I'm increasing mileage, mostly because of the increased time spent running.

No foolin' here, but happy April Fools' Day to everyone.

Happy April Fools Day! Here at work, we've chosen the word "MALARKY" as the word of the day.

The shred is such a good workout, but it does cut into our running time. I like level 2 better than level one. What's your favorite level?

And congrats on self restraint at the mexican restaurant. I can not sit at a table with chips & salsa and not eat any. I think it's against the laws of nature!

I'm the same way, QP! Way to go Carolyn!

It's so hard to fit everything in as far as exercise is going. I find that when running is going well, strength training is not. April suggested the other day that we would all benefit from quitting our jobs. Whaddya say?

I'd quit my job in a heartbeat if I didn't need the money. Although I have to say, as jobs go, it's not a bad one. I suppose I'm lucky to have it. I even enjoy it once in a while. Speaking of which, I should go to work now.

Oh, and I should say that the downside of my not eating any chips is that my husband ate nearly all of them (the kids had a few, but not much) and he really needs to lose weight worse than I do. But if I had eaten chips, we probably would have gotten a "re-chip" and last night we didn't. So maybe he ate the same amount that he usually does, or maybe even less.

And QP, it's been so long since I've done anything other than level 1 on the shred, I can't really remember which I like best. I'll tell you in a couple of months after I've done all of them. I think it's not level 1, though.
