10.7 miles  this morning. I was slow getting around this morning, and not just running. I slept in until 7 a.m and it took one hour to get out of the house and get the run started. I don't drink alcohol but sometimes I wake up and feel like I could have a hang over from something.  I guess in this case it was the 7 or 8 slices of pizza, and the shake with (2 bananas, frozen yogurt, soy milk, peanut butter, and Nestle Quick) that I had for dinner last night.

So the run was just laid back and I tried to just relax and listen to the ipod. I only run with it once in a while and today it was a must. My legs felt really heavy and the quads were sore which is rare.

(New Landreth- 139.2)

7.3 mile run this evening. It had rained pretty hard and I thought this would be a nice time to go up on the trails a look for turtles. So I was running up the trail scanning everything in places where I've spotted them before and I had this feeling like: It would be cool to see a baby one and I started looking at everything a little closer and about .2 farther up the trail I saw a tinny little turtle. Maybe just a little bigger than an egg. It's neck and legs where as little as a straw. I could have stepped on it so easy. It makes me wonder how many turtles that small have I ran by before. It was really cool to see out there in the wild. I hope the little guys makes it.

The running part was ok. My legs are really sore and dead. I'm guessing Saturday and Mondays runs right on top of each other did the trick. I'm really having some delayed soreness. I did a few more today so tomorrow can be shorter as I'll be working in Mesquite... again although it's a different project than last week.

Clyde nice run. Hey we both a well yesterday. I had one Burrito, one plate of nachos, some left over philly steak on a tortilla, and a no bake oatmeal cookie for dinner.

What do you consider your laid back or easy pace is. I usually consider mine around 7:30 to 8:00.

7 to 8 slices of pizza. Clyde that sounds more like my diet. I'm getting excited to see what times you and Dave will have at the marathon. You both have been working so hard this year and it should be a great race.

Kory- I would say my laid back easy pace is 7:15-30 or so on a level, smooth course. However I rarely run on level- only for speed workouts. All my other miles are up hills and much of it is out on sandy, rocky trails... so the effort is there but the pace is much slower. Plus most of the time it's dark when I'm trying to run on some dirt trail. Luckily I have most of them memorized and can run them in the dark.

Dustin- Thanks I'm stating to get antsy too. If all goes well it should be a good one.

Clyde you have it so good down there, you are worrying about little turtles and I am worrying about Mountain lions and bears, that would mean I'm running loafer canyon tomorrow so wish me luck!

I can't wait to see how you do in a couple of weeks, keep up the good work:-)

Clay- Well this time of year I don't really worry too much about the bigger animals. However in the winter people see cougars around town very often, I also hear coyotes howling all the time. The big worry for me is snakes and scorpions... There are so many snakes out there of every kind and color- and I've already been stung by a scorpion down here- not running but it could happen like on a potty stop or something.

I hate snakes and scorpions, and the howling of the coyotes would totally freak me out! I will stick with the Mountain Lions and Bears, maybe I have it better after all!
