3 miles this morning with Myler in the jogging stroller. It was our first time using it and the first run for the little guy. In the end he was fast asleep. I'll hit the club run tonight too.

10 miles tonight with the club. I actually ran from the house over to the store and then just finished the run back home and it ended up being a straight 10. It was hot out. Right around 95 and that was the first really hot run of the year for me. By the last 2 miles with the wind in my face I was ready to be done. I had dried salt all over the body. A common symptom down here but right now I'm just not used to it. Anyways I pretty much beer bonged a Gatorade when I got home and then hit another in it's wake.

So how was it? Did you get the 20" baby jogger? Did it slow you down much?

My 2 year old falls asleep almost every time in the jogger. My 10 month old almost never does. Either way, I've found longer runs go better if I remember to take food/drink for them, plus a blanket... just in case.

Jon- It rolls very good. I go for the performance Baby Jogger with the 20's and it's well worth it. I'm guessing it didn't slow me down much because I don't really go that fast right now... 7:40 paceish. Even when I'm not dealing with a bad hamstring I think it would be hard to try a tempo type run while pushing it just because your form is all over the place. But for day to day runs it should be great.

Yeah, I use mine either on easy days or on medium mile days with no speed (longest run was 15 miles, I think). I wouldn't want to try it on a speed day. Don't forget sunscreen on the little guy with your heat, either.

I think you are both MARVELOUS dads for taking your little ones for a run in the stroller.

Do either of you have issues with the stroller pulling to one side? That has been the case with both of mine and I can not figure it out, so they both collect dust in the garage while my 4 year old begs to go running with me.

Be careful beer bonging the Gatorade and RUN FOR FUN. Great new FRB mantra.

Beer bonged a gatorade! You make me laugh, keep up the good work!

Kelli- If the tires are inflated properly, check the front tire to make sure it is pointed straight. You can tweak it somewhat. But even then, you do get a little sideways drift, but it shouldn't be a ton. If you are having big problems, a bike shop may be able to help you out.

Jarren usually falls asleep when we run with him in the stroller. I always have to keep my eye out, because he likes to carry things with him and then once he falls asleep all kinds of things start falling out of the jogging stroller. I don't mean things like groceries that is Sasha, but small toys or books usually.

Or maybe fruit snacks and sippy cups. My child prefers throwing things to make me work harder.

There is a guy in our neighborhood who owns a bike shop. I had not thought to ask him to check the strollers out, I will. THANKS for the tips.

I like taking Jack now that he can talk a bit. He really like to talk my ear off though. He points out every horse, cow and truck though. Do you have a special funnel and hose for that gatorade bong?

From Superfly on Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 14:15:21 from 209.33.210.52

No special hose. But that would be a nice party trick.
