22.8 mile run this morning. Met up with the club down at the Dixie Center and started out to try an idea I had about a tempo loop. So we ran the loop once as a warm-up and it turned out to be 5.7 miles. A lot of it is on the Painters course and the some up on the other trail.

After the warm-up lap that was at 7:14 pace we started the marathon paced tempo. Some of the trail is under construction so we only did 5.4 miles at temp pace so we didn't get hurt trying to run fast through the construction mess.

The 5.4 mile tempo was at 5:31avg pace. Pretty good considering I only wanted to hit 5:40 pace. Hayden stuck it in high gear and I just tried to hang on to him. He ended up pulling away from me at the end and was running very strong.

Then another lap (5.7 miles) with the guys to cool down at around 7 min pace. Then the guys were done and I added one more lap at 6:40 pace to finish up the week.

Had a good time this morning. It's just amazing spring weather and the mornings are the best. I liked the little tempo loop and think I'll keep it as a standard the rest of the summer. Like every two weeks or something.

Another great week for you, good job! Are you running Ogden? If so, what are you shooting for?

great job - exactly the type of workout I would have been wanting this week. Oh well...

Thanks guys- Wish both of you could have been there.

Mike- I'm planning on running Ogden as far as time goes...I'm not sure. I've never ran that course before and some say it's a lot tougher than it looks. But if I was running Boston like the last two springs I'd be wanting a 2:27-28 or so. But time aside I'd like to finish in the top three at Ogden unless a bunch of studs show.

Good job this morning. I wish I would have been feeling better, I was struggling from the beginning, couldn't even hang with you guys on the warm-up lap. I haven't signed up for Ogden yet, but I'm planning on it. Where are you guys staying at? My only concern right now is getting up to Ogden before the expo is closed on Friday night. I might need to have somebody pick up my timing chip and race bib.

Even though I didn't hit my goal of 60 this week. I was still able to log another week over 50. Once I get done with teaching this Dr. Ed class, hopefully I can increase my mileage some more. I would really like to average 70 miles a week through April. I already feel I've been more consistent and have had better workouts than last year at this same time.

I haven't really thought of a goal time yet for Ogden.

Congrats on the 22.8!!!

No I am not training, I just want to get back in shape!!! I could only dream of running more than what I am doing already. Have a good Easter.
