Nice big workout this morning. We all met at my house at 6:30 a.m and headed up to take on the Broken Mesa. There was 8 of us when we left but after that things separated a little. The first few miles were in the dark... luck for me I have the trail memorized and it wasn't an issue- plus they had been out there with a bulldozer doing some work so it was graded flat.

The trail climb from my house at around 2,800 to 5,100 and some change. We went out and back to the trail head by turkey farm road and it's exactly 11 miles from my driveway. Dave and I were out in 1:40:55 and back in 1:30 flat. So a big negative split but that is due to the major loss in elevation.

We all managed to trip and fall. I took a spill at mile 9ish on the way out and cut my hand up. But no one went down harder than Greg. I didn't see it but when he got back to my house I cleaned him up... it looked like a pretty good crash. Sorry Greg!

It turned out to be a really solid workout. I felt better than I've felt in a long time and at times seemed to be running completely pain free. Happy, happy, joy, joy! This one will be a good endurance base to have in the bag for the year.

 Good times and great oldies.

Good thing I missed this one, there probably would not have been family friendly language with me running on trails, you know how that usually goes.
