Big morning workout. I was going to reward myself and have a play day and then it kind of turned into wanting to run. I went out to ride the Zen trail out in Green Valley and the basic loop is 5.8 miles however depending on where you park it makes things longer. So from where I parked it ended up being a 7.6 mile ride. I had a blast riding it and didn't go all out but went fast enough to get some air when at all possible. The ride took 1:16 and while peddling back up to the Jeep I decided to run it again. So a very fair gauge would be to give myself 2.5 miles worth of running for the ride.

Then I started the run. I grabbed an apple and a drink and hit the trail. At around the halfway point I was way ahead of my biking pace but thought the coming downhill would even us back up. However I ran the loop in 1:05 and I wasn't pushing the pace at all. Kind of weird how fast you feel your going on the bike and how slow your really going. The whole day was amazing with perfect weather. Now to recharge and get ready for this evenings club run.

8.8 mile run this evening in 1:09 with the club. We went up into GS and hit the trail up to the powerline and then over to the trail that runs back to Washington. From there we just made our way back to the store. I kind of hit a wall tonight. In total today I didn't eat more that 700 or so calories. After my bike ride/ run and then another run I most likely burned over 2,500 or more and then just the calories I'd burn for normal life on top of that. So long story short about half way through the run tonight I was starving and my body needed fuel. I made it back to the store but only had enough energy to go to Burger King which is right around the corner and load up on calories. Not the best post run recovery food but in this situation it worked.

Nice workout, I am jealous of your weather!

No club run for me tonight. Ultrasound this afternoon to find out what we are having!

From Logan on Thu, Feb 05, 2009 at 17:03:58

Who is that handsome guy to your left? See you tonight.

From Superfly on Thu, Feb 05, 2009 at 18:02:05

Nate good luck with everything... you've got 50% chance of... I'll let you know what we decide for Saturday.

Jeff- I wish I had you down here to enjoy it with me!

Logan- I'm not sure who the guy on the left is. I think its some lame soccer coach.

Must have been pretty hungry especially if you hit Burger King instead of In and Out, I mean it was only another block and I know how much you love that place. However, I'm sure Burger King was much quicker. Anyway, good job on the run.

What are you guys running on Saturday?

From superfly on Thu, Feb 05, 2009 at 22:34:15

Guys we are meeting at my house at 6:30a.m to do around a 20-22 mile out and back trail run (Icehouse/Broken Mesa). Logna said he is coming and will only do like 16 or something if your not thrilled with the long haul. Greg just call me Friday night if your coming and I'll give you directions.

Dustin- you hit the nail on the head. Burger king was faster. I waited 40 min's last week at In and Out. I couldn't do that today.

See ya all on Sat.... even you Jeff!

Clyde,

I have been mapping out my run for Saturday and plan on running from Dammeron Valley turn into Diamond valley and take a trail that eventualy hooks up to the Turkey Farm Road. I need to hook up with you sometime and get some ideas from you on some trail runs.

Logan, I believe you meant on the left hand side of the picture!

From Harris on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 10:17:38

Are you sticking with the plans? I saw a 70% chance of rain.

From superfly on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 10:56:21

Greg- I guess we will keep things a go for now and still meet up. Then if it feels like it will be too wet we can do a road run.
