Was planning on doing a fartlek run today but my body was telling me otherwise. (I think I was still tired from Saturday's 15.5 miler.) Anyhoo-I opte for an easy 5 miles at 7:30 pace instead and will do the fartlek tomorrow.
Got up and did a fartlek run today. Did 1 mile warm up then 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 1200, 800, 400 with 800 jog in between. My splits were 1:32, 3:07, 4:21, 6:12, 4:49, 3:00 and 1:35. Cooled down a bit. Felt pretty good.
Did a 4 mile tempo run outside today. 1.25 warm up then 4 straight. Splits were 6:15, 6:00, 6:25 and 6:21. (6:16 avg pace-(first two miles were very downhill, 3rd mile was mostly flat with rolling hills and 4th mile was uphill) I was happy with this workout-most of the miles were downhill-but I was glad to finish strong with the 4th one being uphill. 1.75 cool down
