yeah!! I was able to do my run today with hardly any pain at all! I am almost all the way better-probably 90%! Anyway-I drove to the track today only to find that it is being resurfaced and I can't use it until August 1st. bummer!! So I drove to the crappy gravel track-at least it is a softer surface I guess. Anyway I jogged slow for a mile warmup. Then stretched. Then I did a tempo/fartlek run of 6 miles. 1st mile was 7:05-(just wanted to actively warm my calf up more) then mile 2 and 3 were 6:35, 6:36, then took a mile easy at 7:55, then finished up miles 5 and 6 at 6:38 and 6:29 (no breaks). I was pretty happy that my leg cooperated so well. This workout was definitely hard for me. It was a long day and coming back from camping I was wiped out. I also felt like the gravel surface made me alot slower and it was 74 degrees! Anyway-I am satisfied and happy about the leg!! |
