First run sense the Marathon on the 7th. I'm going to take it easy and see how everything has healed. I'm itching to start speed workouts again, but I guess I'm supposed to take it easy for a couple of weeks right?

Well I did it, my first run sense the marathon! I felt really good, probably the best I've felt after any marathon. I first 1 1/2 miles I didn't even fell sore. The last few were a little tight, but smooth. I felt like I could have ran them at race pace, so I did, the last two.

Thanks for the advice Sasha and for the welcome to the blog, this is a really great running tool.

Thanks For the welcome Dustin, I'm going to have to start watching for you.

Cheston - welcome to the blog.

If your body wants to go fast, give it a shot. There is no such thing as a universal "supposed to" in running. Bodies are different. You have run for long enough to have developed a good ability to read your body's signals.

I suggest you start with light tempos at marathon pace (3-5 miles) to see how they feel.

Welcome to the blog! I have seen you at a few of the races, usually when you go flying past me at the end, like you did at St. George to take home that 10th spot in the 30-34 age division. I finished 11th in the division. Congrats on a new PR and a great race. Hope your training continues to go well, and I'll probably see you at some of the local races. If you are ever over in St. George come join us for a run. www.stgeorgerunningclub.com

Cheston I was the guy that said way to go about mile 25. I had just remembered your name from the Bryce Canyon Half. I was hurting pretty bad at the end of St. George, I had pushed it pretty hard in the beginning I was struggling to finish. I didn't run the second half as strong as I was hoping to.
