I was a little discouraged this morning because I skipped yesterday's run, but I'm sure in the long run it's going to help me. I would have gone from 48 miles last week to 54 mile this week, which probably isn't too much. Now my body we'll have a better rest. I'll go from 48miles (last week), 45 miles (this week) and 54 miles (next week).
This week I've really been concentrating on running faster miles, instead of just putting them in. I feel that I accomplished my goal. Today I did some tempo miles, and ended averaging a 9 miler a lot faster then I have in awhile (6:56 per mile).
Mile 1 (uphill, always my toughest) in 7:57
Mile 2 in 6:38 ( this mile is also uphill, I was very pleased with this pace)
Mile 3 slowed down a bit to catch breath 7:36
Mile 4 in 6:35 (uphill)
Mile 4.5 in 3:12
Mile 4.5-5.5 in 7:31
Mile 5.5 to 6.5 in 6:43
Mile 6.5 to 7.5 in 6:36
Mile 7.5 to 8.5 in 6:23
8.5 to 9 in 2:59
I'm happy with the week and feel pretty rested. I'll be ready for next week. |
