Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run 3-4 days a week, and increase the mileage on my long run each week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

In 2009 I would like to do 2 half marathons and 1 sprint triathlon.

Personal:

I have always been athletic, but started running more seriously at the start of 2007. I had to take a few months off in the summer and fall. I had twins boys in Oct 2007 (hence the time off). I lost a lot of weight when I had them, but managed to gain some of it back. We have a double stroller, which is the hardest workout when I take the boys for a jog.

I think that was really 10th place for women, because I know there were more than 10 people in front of me. This was a good race, I tried to push it, and I did.  The last mile there was a HUGE hill that was not fun, and really slowed me down. The last 1/4 mile I was really trying to push it to get a good time, just when I was starting to give up, a girl came up behind me and made me try even harder so she wouldn't pass me. Well, with about 100 yards to go, she passed me, and was probably laughing at me on the inside at this girl who tried so hard not to let her pass. I know I do when I am in her shoes.  Well, come to find out she started the race like a minute later and was playing catchup the whole race.... I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse. But I thank my unknown friend who pushed me hard at the end and got me in under 32 minutes, which was a secret goal, though to others I think I said 34 minutes.  !0 minute 2 second mile pace... I am proud of this run!

Congratulations on making your "secret" goal. Nice way to let a little bit of your competitive nature come out in the race to provide that extra motivation when needed.

Keep up the tough work.

I love unknown friends who give you a boost! It doesn't matter if she was playing catch up or not! Great job hitting even your secret goal!
