Short-Term Running Goals: I want to run 3-4 days a week, and increase the mileage on my long run each week.
Long-Term Running Goals: In 2009 I would like to do 2 half marathons and 1 sprint triathlon.
Personal: I have always been athletic, but started running more seriously at the start of 2007. I had to take a few months off in the summer and fall. I had twins boys in Oct 2007 (hence the time off). I lost a lot of weight when I had them, but managed to gain some of it back. We have a double stroller, which is the hardest workout when I take the boys for a jog.

| | Today Mik'L and I did a 5 mile run. We stopped for a bit at the half way point (I had to use the facilities) and then on the way back my knee started to hurt SOOO bad, we had to stop and walk a few times. I was upset because cardio/breathing I was doing fine, but my knee was just terrible. But I got the distance in, so I guess that is good. |

| | I took my boys for a walk that was a little over a mile. Then I went for a 2 mile run. I tried to push it, and I did pretty good. My knee didn't hurt that bad, which surprised me since it was terrible on Sat. run. |

| | I took the boys out for a run in the jogging stroller. Not an easy task, but now I know I can do it. |

Spectrum 10K (6.2 Miles) 01:10:58, Place overall: 232, Place in age division: 50 | | Okay, I did it, and that is all that matters. Just as I suspected my knee started to hurt. I guessed it would be around mile 4, as that is where it has started to hurt on my last couple long runs. Well it hit about 3 1/2 miles in. I had to slow my pace down, but I didn't want to stop, because I learned on my 6 mile run last week, if I stop to walk, it just hurts that much more when I start back up, so I kept a slow pace for the next mile or so... then...... my arch on my foot started to hurt. Every time I went on to the ball of my foot, sharp pains!!!! Well, at about mile five, I made a decision. I can either be miserable and be in pain for the next 20 minutes, OR I can be miserable, and gut it out and push it for the next 10 minutes. Either way I was going to be miserable, so I chose the latter of the two. I passed a lot of people that passed me during mile 4 and 5, so that was cool, though I am sure they didn't like it. My father in law wants me to train for the half marathon in May, which would be hard, and I really don't know if I should, especially if my knee is hurting so bad. It is SO weird though, it is only when I am running, and it hits at about 3.5-4 miles. Any suggestions? |

| | This was a good run. I made sure to stretch and massage before the run, and then I iced after, etc, and my knee didn't hurt that bad, it was great. I was going to get up and do a short run today (the 19th) with my boys, but I was actually a bit sore :( So I figured I would rest today. |
