Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run 3-4 days a week, and increase the mileage on my long run each week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

In 2009 I would like to do 2 half marathons and 1 sprint triathlon.

Personal:

I have always been athletic, but started running more seriously at the start of 2007. I had to take a few months off in the summer and fall. I had twins boys in Oct 2007 (hence the time off). I lost a lot of weight when I had them, but managed to gain some of it back. We have a double stroller, which is the hardest workout when I take the boys for a jog.

2 miles with double stroller.  I took my sweet time.  Thanks Mik'L for going slow with me.

with double stroller.  I ran a mile and bumped into Mik'l and she was nice enough to run more with me even though she was about done.  So return the favor we walk a half a mile together.  Then I ran the other half mile.  So I ran 1 1/2 miles and walked 1/2.  I think I also took my boys for a walk on Tuesday, so that was a half mile.  Hey, I get the miles where I can :)  Though I didn't enter that into my mileage.

I ran the first mile in 10 minutes, so not bad for how poorly I have been doing, then the second mile in a little under 12.  The last mile, I can't ever get under 12 minutes, no matter how good of shape I might be in :(

2 miles with double stroller.  About 1/4 of a mile into my run I noticed I had a flat tire, and didn't want that to stop me from my run because I didn't go last night, and I probably wouldn't get to go tonight.  So I proceeded.  Downhill I didn't even think about it, and did that mile in 12 minutes.  On the way back... the dreaded UPhill....  I thought to myself... "I have been running with this stroller long enough that is shouldn't be THIS hard..."  Then I remembered the flat tire!  Oh, My Goodness, you don't think about how much a simple, flat tire can affect your run, but WOW!!!  I highly recommend anybody running with a stroller check the air prior to leaving.  Needless to say, I had to walk the last about half mile :(

two miles with Mik'L. I ditched the flat jogging stroller, my cousin was kind enough to watch the kids for me so I could go for a run!!

2 miles in 21:24.  I did the first mile in 10:30 about and the second mile in about 11 minutes.  I felt like I was running SO fast, but I guess I wasn't, but I am proud I didn't the last mile in well under 12 minutes!

2 miles with stroller.  I did pump up the wheels so it was a little better, but I really feel like this should be getting easier.  Oh, I remember why it was hard, we had to go to Cedar City and were there late, so the boys got to sleep a little later than normal.  So anyway, I let them sleep in a bit on Wednesday...so I could sleep in a bit, and by the time we got out the door for my run it was nearly 8:30 AM... and starting to get hot.

with the stroller, and this took me a while.  Around 40 minutes, but I stopped at Mik'l house and then we walk like a fourth of a mile or so.  It was good, and I am hoping that all this effort I am putting into running with the double stroller will pay off.

So today I didn't technically run, but I played in a volleyball tournament yesterday and today.  Trust me, there was lots of short sprints, diving and jumping involved. I am sure it accounts for at least a mile.  I am so extremely sore it isn't even funny.  I would say it was 3-4 hours on Friday (5-6 hours total time there, but only 3-4 of actual play time) and then about 5 hours of playing today.
