Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Last night I took my wife to the movies.  We were going to watch the Avengers, but when we saw the line wrapped around the building we decided to go to the dollar theater and watch MI4.  It was ok.  I liked the other ones better.  Anyway, we bought tickets for the 9:25p showing, and we sat and waited for it to start.  And we waited.  And we waited.  Then I looked at my ticket, and it said 9:50p!  So we finally got out of the movie after midnight, and I didn't get to bed until after 1a.  I contemplated cancelling the run I had planned with my team, but that would make me a jerk.

I managed to get up at 4a and get ready.  Alyssa was the only other Ragnar teammate that came.  We ran Usery Pass.  3.7 miles up 700+ feet.  Then back down.  Neither Alyssa nor I have run since Ragnar two weeks ago.  But I felt surprisingly good.  Alyssa tried to keep up with me, but I could tell her breathing was labored.  After a while she just gave up and ran her own pace.  But she did awesome.  My overall pace was 9:31.  My new shoes worked out pretty good.  They're trainers, whatever that means.  I just saw that they were lightweight and stability.  They feel pretty good.
