| | 3 mile run at 6:30am. It was already 89°. I say already, but the truth is, I don't think it gets much cooler than that at night anyway. The first two miles weren't too bad. The last mile was blah! |

Check it out. I almost ran two days in a row! Almost. Today was nice. It was only 81°. As I ran next to the canal, I saw something alongside the dirt road. At first I thought it was ducks. Why do I always think everything's ducks?? The closer I got, the less it looked like ducks, and the more it looked like, I don't know, somebody's work gear or something? Then I thought, "Is that a body? No, it has to be ducks!" Finally I could make out exactly what it was. A body! Come on! How has nobody seen this yet? Why me? Please be a hobo sleeping! Please! I need you to be a hobo! Thank goodness that's what it was. He was laying on his side on top of his yoga mat. He had a backpack and a bicycle. His face looked purplish and dead. But right before I yelled at him, he moved. So I said, "Good morning!" and startled him. Another crisis averted. But wait. If he's sleeping there, that can only mean one thing. Somebody else must have beat him to the bench at the magic water fountain. Yes indeed. There was another hobo at the MWF. I decided not to get a drink. Who knows if he'd been french kissing it.

9 and a quarter miles on the bicycle to work. I haven't really rode my bike in over two years. It felt great.

9 and three quarter miles on the bicycle on the way home from work. I realized when I got on that my bum bum was sore from the ride to work.
9 and one quarter miles back to work.

It was 80° out at 10am when I wanted to go running. But I pitter-pattered around until noon. Then it was 89°, but I went anyway. As I was running down the street, two ladies slowed down and started whistling and hooting at me. One of them asked me if I wanted a ride.

This morning I met with two of my Napa Valley Ragnar teammates, Jess and Billy, and two of their friends, Stan and Lina. We ran up South Mountain. Well, we walked some of it, too. But we got there at 5:30am to beat the heat. It did get hot. Or maybe I'm too much out of shape. Anyway, it was a good time.
Good luck to those running the TOU Half Marathon.

| | 18.75 miles on the bicycle from and to work. I enjoy these rides, but I think I'm getting strep throat. |

| | 9.75 miles on the bike home from work. I passed 4 other cyclists. One drafted off me for a mile and a half then passed me back as I slowed down when my turn was approaching. Everyone must've thought we were a cute couple because she had a hot pink bike and helmet and mine is all blue. |
