So I've been doing my Insanity workouts as well as modified Crossfit workouts from home. It's been a fun mix. :) I'm running about 2 times a week now. Hoping for an outside run tomorrow afternooon. :) Today I did Insanity and then I did this short Crossfit workout:
3 rounds of....
20# kettle bell
50 jump rope
my time = 3:03 minutes
It was hard! |

crossfit workout adapted for home:
For time: 50 Jump rope
50 Burpees 50 Wall ball shots, 10 pound ball (I only have a 12# so that is what I did) 50 Back extensions (supermans) (did them on the ground) 50 Push press, 20 pounds (did them with a 15# kettle bell, 25 each arm) 50 Knees to elbows (I did a modified version on the floor, we have a bar it's just not up yet) 50 Walking Lunges (50 steps) 50 Kettlebell swings, 15 lbs 50 Crossfit sit-ups
50 Box jump, 18 inch box (I did 50 jump tucks since we don't have a box)
My time = 23:28
THIS. WAS. HARD. It hurt so good though! :)

Gonna run Top of Utah. I have 15 weeks.
I would like to BQ @ 3:35, but that would take a miracle, so we'll see.
Haven't done much since my Snow Canyon Half race 7 months ago http://brooke.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-03-2012.html
That race changed the way I think about my running and racing which is this: I can do SO much more than I thought I could....so maybe I can BQ after all?
Still working full time night shifts (7pm-7am), but I switched my schedule around so I have more mornings to get my run in before Hailey wakes up AND it means Saturday mornings are free, too, for long runs.
Here we go!
today:

still pretty slow, but felt good about holding on to 9 min average for 5 miles, it was hard! Definitely just starting out still.
decided at mile 5 (.5 from home) to just get my "long run" done today instead of tomorrow
legs and will to survive were dead at about mile 7

4 slow recovery miles
legs and "umph" still very dead from yesterday's 8
went to see Smooth and her husband at a group lunch before they leave on their mission to Australia! I asked her if she'll be able to run and she said "maybe 30 mins a day, we'll see." She plans to run St. George in 2016.

30 mins elliptical
1000 meters row in 2:55
20 burpees
1000 meters row in 2:45
1 mile elliptical sprint @ level 7
