AM - about 4 miles very slow on the golf course this morning with Finn.  Days are beginning to get shorter.  It was still dark when we started and the sun was not quite risen when we finished.   Finn was off lead, and probably ran 2-3 miles longer than me - lots of exploring to be done in the wet grass, sand traps and woods.

PM - 7.5 miles on the treadmill after work.

I've been having a blast exchanging emails with Del Ramers the past 24 hours. He said he knew Parker pretty well when he lived in Tallahassee but he didn't know he was in the new book.

Seriously? You just decided to email Ramers and he responded? Outstanding! I wonder if DHS still has the list of school records hanging in the gym with Ramer's name on it. 4:10 or 4:12 right?

I remember reading Once a Runner and noticing people like Jerry Slavin who was a guy in my dad's age group that Parker referred to and just assumed that he would have let them know that he was putting their names in the book. Guess not!

Yeah. 4:10 in 1969!

He has a pretty googleable name. Works as the "imaging specialist" at Bryn Mawr University in Philadelphia. Whatever that is. He must be about 63 or 64 now.

That is funny isn't it? That Parker would throw people in his book without telling them?

I'm going to send our last exchange on to you...

Parker comes up with some unique names for his characters. Interesting that many of them are actual people.

"Chip Newspickle" is one from the new book.
