I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004.

Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

Had a good run today. My legs felt a little bit stiff from taking nearly three days off. I ran with my dad and braden. We did 1 lap around the inside of sugarhouse park then we went for a loop that goes out to the cemetary on 3300 s. and Highland. It ended up being 8 miles. It was tiring, but I'm glad I did it.

Went to the gym in the morning:

4x15 crunches (regular, left side, and right side)

4x10 reverse crunches

10 back arches with 10 lbs.

200 arm swings with 2 1/2 lb. weights in each hand

3x10 bicep curls with 10 lbs.

2x10 squats with bar

2x10 bench press with 10 lbs. (1 arm at a time)

Went to the oval tonight for speed workout with Wasatch Athletics. We warmed up 4 laps slow, then 3 laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then I did a mile in 5:59. My splits were:

1- 1:27

2- 1:35 (We're not sure where the first 400 is so I'm guessing the first split was slower and the second split was faster)

3-1:30

4-1:27

It felt pretty good, but I had to pick up the pace at the end to make up time. Then we did 2 laps recovery.

Then we did 8x400, my splits were:

1- 1:17

2- 1:20

3- 1:19

4- 1:19

5- 1:20

6- 1:20

7- 1:19

8- 1:16

The 400's felt really good. They didn't feel too hard, but I don't know how much faster I could have went and still been able to do all of them. In between the 400's we jogged 1 lap slow. After the 400's I did a 3 lap cooldown.

Felt very tired today. When I got home from school I went straight to bed and didn't wake up till the next morning.

Went to the doctor today and found out I have strep throat, so no running today either.

Decided to try going for a run today. I ran from my house, up whitewater to Wasatch Blvd. Then I ran on Wasatch to 4500 s. I ran on 4500 s. to Highland Dr., and then Highland to 3900 s. I ended at Nielsen's Frozen Custard where my parents picked me up and we all had some concrete. The run felt really good, it was fun running after the storm. When I got back in the car the thermometer said it was 20 degrees outside, it's a good thing I didn't know that before I started or else the run probably wouldn't have happened. I tried a new pair of shoes today. They felt really good (it's the same kind as I had before), but I don't think they need much breaking in. (Hayward R/W 5.5)
