I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004. Personal: I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again. |

| This morning we had our last summer workout. We met at the track. We did 1 mile slow, then a mile of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did 1 mile and 2 800's. I was still very sore from the 1/2 so I did it at tempo pace. I did the mile in 6:43, and the 800's in 3:19 and 3:16. They felt fairly easy but my legs were tired and my calves were knotted up. Afterward we did a cooldown around the block that was 3.25 miles. We have our first meet on Wednesday so I hope my legs will be feeling better by then. (Pegaus 86) |

AM- I ran the golf course loop this morning in 29:12, I was hurting pretty bad and didn't loosen up but I think that's because it has so many hills you never have a chance to get into a rythym. (Pegasus 89)
PM- Since my shins have been hurting I decided to try a different pair of shoes. It seemed to work. I'll have to try them again and see. We ran from the track up to the drinking fountain at Shriners and back. When we got back we did 10x100 meter strides and 2x300. My 300's were in 53, then 51. It was a good workout, I think my legs will feel better by tomorrow. (Skylon 5) |

| Today we had our first XC meet. It was at wheeler farm. We started out by doing a warm-up. We jogged part of the course, but when we came to a spot on the course with a foot of water we decided the course needed to be changed. Once all of that was figured out we did some strides and started the race. The race went well. Me and Susannah ran together the first mile we hit a 6:10, then I pushed a little bit and was able to get a lead. After that I was just working my hardest to maintain. From the mile to the finish was 12:43, the course was 2.93 miles. I figure if it would have been three miles I would have run around a 19:32 so that's pretty good. After the race we did 10 hills and a 15 minute cooldown. My shins didn't hurt. I took ibuprophen, and put some biofreeze on them so that's probably why. (Skylon 9) |

AM- This morning we ran from the school to Sugarhouse Park, did a lap around the park and then ran back. Me and Susannah ran together. It took us 47:56. Once we got back we did 5x100 meter strides.
PM- Today we ran up to sunnyside park. Then we did a 2 mile warm-up. Then a 2 mile tempo run. It took me 13:10, so 6:55 pace. It felt good, not too hard. Then we did a 2 mile cooldown and ran back to the track. (Skylon 23) |

Today we ran to the Gully from the school through it and back. That was 2.75 miles. Then we did 1 mile of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did an 800. I was supposed to run a 2:55. I ran a 2:56 so that was good we jogged one lap. Then we were doing 8x400, jogging 1 lap in between. I did the first one and decided I was too sore to finish the workout without pulling something, but after the team had done another 400, I decided to jump back in and try to finish the workout. I did and these were my splits:
1- 1:24
2- 1:22
3- 1:25
4- 1:22
5- 1:24
6- 1:26
7- 1:24
8- 1:24
I felt good about the workout and my splits. I forgot my flats so I did the whole thing in trainers. After the workout we jogged 5 laps cooldown. (Pegasus 33) |

AM- This morning while we were in Midway I ran 6 miles. I did the cooldown with my dad. My shin was hurting pretty bad so it took me a while to convince myself to even start the run. Once I started it warmed up a little bit but then hurt the rest of the run.
PM- 7 miles at Liberty park tonight. My shin hurt even worse tonight. We started with a lap on the grass but I think because of it being uneven it made it hurt more, so we went on the roads for about 4 miles. At one point we stopped at a light which made it hurt way worse once I started again. I looked back through my blog and its been hurting for 10 weeks. I don't know what I should do. I'm going to back off a bit next week and hopefully that will help it. I don't want to stop running because I don't want to loose my fitness. (Skylon 46) |
