5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (9.5, 1:24:56). What an awesome route I found today -- at least 5-6 miles on hilly dirt road ... just me and the lizards (and I am sure some snakes that I, thankfully, did not see).  I am not sure when I will be able to run this particular route again, it is already warm here (hitting 91F today and 100F by Sunday), and there is definitely no water along the way ... But, you can bet I will be back in the Fall!!

I stopped by to get a little horse-love from BigBoy and Coco.  I really wanted to run longer, but I just don't have time ... the grant is due today and I have to grade 50 analysis papers by 10AM tomorrow (I told the students I would be done by then).

PM: 4 miles easy.

Well, I will try to check-in with everyone over the weekend ... but maybe not until next week.

Happy trails bloggers!!!  Hugs and love to you all (sniff sniff, I really like you guys).

Good luck with the work stuff. And tomorrow. Is it at U of A? Do you have to stay for awhile?

From Bonnie on Thu, Apr 19, 2012 at 12:31:22 from 128.196.228.134

Hi Catherine, not at UofA (sorry to say, but universities are not the best place to have routine things done - but they are great for specialized stuff, like face transplants and after you get shot in the head ;-) ). I have a great surgeon and he uses another local surgery center ... I will be home by tomorrow night!

I guess it's good that what you're having is considered routine? :) I'm glad you get to go home soon after.

Wow it's outpatient? You will be in our thoughts. Nice new path, something to look forward too in the future :)

Well Bonnie, I missed you on the road today. I stuck to Oro Valley and thoroughly enjoyed it! And I finished by 8:30 so it wasn't so hot. I'm back on the plane tomorrow then will return early June. Hopefully we'll touch base ONE of these days!

thinking of you, bonnie. hope everything went well today.

I am home ... it went ok, my surgeon said I did "great" (whatever that means, I really did not do anything since I was sleeping -- at least I think I was).

From catherine on Fri, Apr 20, 2012 at 20:46:45 from 174.232.136.23

Thanks for the update. I hope "okay" means the outcomes you hoped for. Hugs from Catherine and Eric and Elliott. :)

From Bonnie on Fri, Apr 20, 2012 at 21:03:47 from 64.119.33.134

The one thing I am learning Catherine, is that "outcomes" seem to require a lot of waiting!! I won't know how well this worked for another week or so when the pathology comes back!! another week!!

I am sure Elliott's hug was pretty quick because she seems to have places to go! hugs back.
