PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (8.5 miles, 1:12:45).  It is springtime here today -- 90F, but the flowers are blooming and at least I wasn't running 26.2 miles ;-).

PM: easy 4.

Crazy busy.  It is good though, keeps my mind off of surgery that is this Friday already!  I am trying not to be depressed that I won't be able to run for a while and was thinking today about how hard it was going to be to reaclimate to the heat and hills when I am able to run again ... but, I will cross that bridge when I get to it!!  Day to day is all we can do!

Happy Tuesday bloggers!!

You are one of the toughest people I have never met. ;o) I know it will be hard, but I have faith in you! One step at a time, you will get through it.

How long will you need to be not running? I am thinking you can do other things before running probably, like spinning maybe?

Thinking about you every day, hoping Friday goes seamlessly.

Oh no Bonnie I am so far behind on my FRB friends. I will have to see what's going on. I hope your surgery goes well!

Hi Kelli, I won't be able to do anything for a week, maybe less, it depends on how things go the first surgery and if they have to go back in. It isn't really about impact, it is about the stitches. I might be able to walk, but my surgeon might ask me not to do that too. I actually have to take 5 days off from work and am not supposed to drive ...

During radiation I can do as much as I have energy for, which near the end might be sort not much, but some people have been able to jog a little bit for the first 3 or 4 weeks for sure and after that it just really depends.

Well, we will all be here for you every day!!!

Not a big deal april, just a little bit of stage 0 breast cancer ... more of a nuisance than anything -- although they aren't really sure of final staging yet - as they haven't gotten to all of what they have seen on the imaging yet. I am assuming that it is pure DCIS ;-)

Everyday and then some. I was thinking about you during that hot 26.2 and knew if you were there you would tell me how much colder that is than your summer runs. :) praying for you!

No way, Dan-the-man, I never would have said that ... trying to run a marathon in anything warmer than 60 is really hard! I am sorry I did not send you enough cool energy -- but you were a stud!!!!

From Dan on Wed, Apr 18, 2012 at 19:54:21 from 24.209.83.20

Oh Bon, I have not been called stud in many a year ;) Appreciate you!

Hey Bonnie - I'm playing catchup on what everyone has been up to... but I just wanted to wish you the best this Friday. Be strong - we all know you will.
