5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: 8 miles, easy pace -- I seem to have misplaced my watch.  I know that I went through my first landmark about 50 secs faster than usual.  Yikes.  I had to remind myself to take it very easy.  It was hard, my legs feel so fresh -- and, of course, I was inspired by watching the trials (well virtually watching, it is not on TV yet).

PM: Easy 4.

I KNEW Abdi was going to make the team.  I just had no idea that Meb would kill it like that!  And, I am torn because I was so rooting for Ritz, but am seriously happy for Abdi.  Shalane was, as usual, amazing.

I am also super stoked to see that the McMillan Elite had 2 guys in the top 10 ... seriously awesome for a group that has only been around for 5 years!! SOOO happy for them.  Haven't yet heard what happened to Stephanie.

Happy Saturday bloggers!

I don't have your watch. I swear. Trials are fun, no?? :)

Arizona was well-represented yesterday! Like you, I was heartbroken for Ritz (he must have fought so hard to close the gap in the last mile), but happy to see Abdi back on top of his game. I loved when he was egging on the crowd earlier in the race. Brett and Nick ran about as well as they probably could have hoped too... its a good thing for US running in general that it takes a 2:09 to make the team!

Couldn't ask for a better women's team to be heading to London. That was a fun race to watch play out as well. Shalane is tough!
