10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:02:20 ... another beautiful day.  I ran major hills today - I love living in the Tucson mountains (not to be confused with "mountains in Tucson" ;-) ).  There are 3 major mountain ranges in Tucson, the Tucson mountains are the lowest in elevation, but closest to downtown (a mere 15 mins -- but much less congested than the other foothills).  Saguaro forests, lots of hills, lots of dirt roads/trails, and lots of javelina, bobcats, deer and coyotes (well, and snakes, scorpions and mountain lions ;-) ).

Thanks to allie, I couldn't resist having celery and almond butter for breakfast ... hopefully I can make up the calories at lunch or dinner ;-).

I am so excited about the trials tomorrow -- I think Abdi is going to make the team as the "long shot"!  Don't forget to  make  your predictions -- today is the last day, and there is a fastrunningblog team.

Happy Friday bloggers.

I don't know what almond butter is. I'm not sure I want to. Glad it was a beautiful day for you! Our temps dropped 30 degrees in the last few days, and now we have some nice snow action.

Almond butter is great! It is "peanut butter" but made with almonds. There is some evidence to suggest it is better for you than peanut butter (http://www.athleticmindedtraveler.com/blog/almond-butter-versus-peanut-butter-which-is-the-healthier-choice). The calories and fat are similar in both, though almond butter has less saturated fat - and it has more vit. E, iron, and calcium. But, I am trying to watch my weight right now, and I really shouldn't be eating either -- darn that allie!!

At least you had it on celery and not on, say, cookies :)
