5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (10 miles, 1:26:17). 27:33wu/30:12cd, 20 x :30 w/1` recovery.   Beautiful day today, 33F and sunny.  I slept well last night (for the first time in two weeks, I think because I finally made some progress on the myriad of things I have due in the next week or so) and it showed!  I enjoyed my run, my legs enjoyed my run, and all is right with the world -- well, until I get into my office ;-).

PM: 4 miles easy.  I have to get back on the horse -- I am going to go back to the ill-fated Reid Park tonight.  I have not decided whether I am going to try a new parking spot, but I surely won't have anything of value in the car (and my wallet and phone will be well hidden).

I hope you all have inspired moments and a joyfilled day!

Nice run this morning I love when you can sleep and relax - it really does make ALL the difference in the world! Good luck on the PM side. Maybe Allie's trophy will show up in your car? :)

What races are you doing this year Bonnie?

From Bonnie on Tue, Jan 04, 2011 at 12:30:33 from 64.119.33.134

ha ha ha -- oh how I wish that trophy would show up anywhere near me!!

I hope you are getting a few minutes more sleep these days? Sleep really is one of the best healers!! Have a great day RAD!

Sounds like your year is off to a beautiful start!!!!

Smiled the whole time reading your entry.

I love when things feel so right! :)

Very cool. :) :) :)

Hi Burt, I am going to do a 1/2 marathon in March -- maybe in Nashville, if my work schedule co-operates and I think I am going to try to get into the 1/2 at Grandma's or some other 1/2 in the May/June time (although that might be tough as we will be in Spain for some of May - so maybe I will hop into a race there again). And you?

Teena -- thank you! If you (and your family) need a break from the cold, you know where to come, you would be more than welcome (and you could probably bump into the infamous "Burt" as an added incentive).

From Burt on Tue, Jan 04, 2011 at 12:40:28 from 206.19.214.144

Bumping into Burt does sound enticing.

Well, I'll be doing the Del Sol Ragnar for sure. I'd like to the Vegas one again. It's time for my half marathon PR to come down. Maybe Havasu. And I'd like to do St. George if I can get in. I'm also kicking around the idea of an ultra, 50-mile Man Against Horse if I don't get into SGM.

BTW Teena, Bonnie is now the mileage queen.

All hail to Bonnie!!!! :) :) :)

Bonnie, perhaps one day I will take you up on your offer! You are too kind. :)

Glad to hear you are feeling so strong Bonnie! I second it on the crosstraining; it is GOOD for us. I do think I've taken on a bit too much of it at the moment, but it does seem to work. 1/2 marathon in Nashville sounds great!

always positive things to read here!

burt and bonnie: don't forget about the TOU half marathon...:)
