Ran a ways up to Lewis peak from big rock but turned back because it was super windy and like 20 degrees and already snowy up there. Ran on the canal road to get to 12. I'm really good at running uphill when the grade is under 15% and there aren't a ton of turns... switchbacks and 20%+ grade kill me. I'm confident I could get the KOM from big rock to skyline from Riley cook, in fact I was tempted to go back and try it today when I saw the segment when I uploaded it to Strava. But the first mile up skyline that has over 1000 ft elevation gain on switchbacks... my legs are just not ready to beat any records on that atm. |
