Met up with jags, big t and landon to do a percentage run and we thought it would be fun to do it on the AF XC course because it jst brought back the feels of the good old times lol. Warmed up two mikes before the workout. The workout was one mile at 1 minute slower than two mile pace, two miles 1 minute slower than mile pace and then finished with an all out 800. We ran the first mile together and got a 6:11, which was a little fast, and in the second mile I separated from them because they didn't drop the pace enough and I couldn't even drop the pace as much as I would have liked and so the next two miles were hard and my legs felt way heavy. Splits were 6:03, 6:09. Then the 800 on the track was insanely hard but I pulled out a 2:42 so that was decent, it was a good workout to finish the week with. Cooled down to 8. I have been questioning myself a lot lately about why I have been trying so hard and pushing myself to the breaking point, as track season is all I have left and it is very improbable that I will get close to making state, but I'm starting to figure out why. I saw this quote that said "don't focus on what you can't do, but rather focus on what you CAN do to make yourself the best you can be" and that inspired me and I'm definitely ready to destroy the rest of track season and go out on a high note. Also, it was super cool to see all the utah runners kill it at Arcadia, especially the 4x1600 Lehi team with their fifth place finish and awesome PRS by Collin and connor #gang. And I was inspired by the most clutch race I have ever seen as Connor took second in the two mile and made it look simple and easy, suckas a str8 grinder, stay cool with the jack fam! |
