Worked all day. The solution for Chicago's air traffic control system being broken almost indefinetely by the fireman who doused the whole center with water last week is to direct all aircraft flying through most of the central US, underneath Chicago Center's airspace so they fly in local air traffic control systems. Now half the US air traffic flies every day in the middle of thunderstorms instead of over them, fuel burn is triple normal amount, and everybody flies where the general aviation aircraft are. Unimaginable mess.
