I had a Salt Lake overnight for work this weekend so I got up and decided to try a 5K.  Enough time with that stupid tendon!  I was kind of curious how swimming affected my running for the last four weeks.

There was a fast field that showed up so I was excited to get a good run in.  Everyone started out pretty fast with around a 5:10 pace and I was shooting for about 5:30 so it took a while to catch the group.  It felt great and the pace was right on for me, a guy I didn't recognize passed me at 2.5 miles and felt good enough to hang on until about the 3 mile point to kick it in a bit and pass him back.  That felt a bit like racing again!  Best news is that I have the tendon strength, I believe, so it's time to start training again!

Great Job! Once again you looked very impressive. Those guys in front of you were amazing so I would sweat it. You did great.

Not too shabby Steve. I'm curious to know how much pain you are experiencing in the achilles? Interesting you should mention Des News next week. I went to Liberty Park today to run. Did 6 miles with a fair amound of pain, but around 3 miles I just sort of forgot about it and noticed it wasn't getting any worse. So I've decided to give the 10k a shot.

Matt, I didn't see you there this morning. What's up?

Rob, exactly what you describe, except I had a golfball size lump from the torn fibers. But it goes away at times and doesn't seem to get worse so I'm going to hit it..Now I'm just slow is all.

Nice time and kick at the end. Who beat you in your age group?
