I was down in Salt lake with my son for the weekend so this race fit in perfect before he got out of bed Saturday morning!  I was looking forward to seeing how my recovery was going and if the longer runs of the week had left a mark.  I thought this was a downhill course until I talked to my uncle, a police officer running security for the race, where the course was and he laughed.  It was one of the hilliest courses I have run for a bit!

We started out pretty slow and I was enjoying it since I didn't have a watch on.  But then it turned up the hills into the Avenues and started getting fun.  As we came back and started up the hill, a guy passed me and said something to the effect of, "come on you can make it, don't give up yet, keep it up".  That was it.  Just not cool to say that to an old guy.  It took me nearly a half a mile to pass him and put a gap between us.  :)

The ramp up to mileage has not seemed to affect that tandon so it's time to start getting some miles in again, yes!

Steve - it was good to see you yesterday and to actually watch you race rather than just observe your back pulling farther and farther ahead of me. Good race.

Glad to hear you enjoyed my Grand Canyon story. It was definitely the most awesome thin I've ever done running wise. Next year we'll take some more time and either stay at the lodge or PARTY in your RV afterwards rather than drive six hours home. I'm pretty sure Jeff Shadley wants to go, so we'll have a great group.

Steve, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you. I think I only saw you at about the mile mark were you blew by me. Nice run.

Rob, sounds good. I'll fill it up with twinkies and Dr. Pepper so you can check out my runners diet. I'm just getting going tomorrow on my distance training.

Adam, I don't think I blew by anybody in that race! Pretty much got my butt kicked..How's your training going?

Steve, I am just getting back into it. My mileage is still very low from its peak. My main goal is to be back to it for a spring marathon. Have fun at Big Sur next month. I look forward to reading the race report. I saw in your TOU report that you had a torn Achilles. How long ago was that?

Nice job on the race, way to represent and stand tall for us old guys!
