| Easy recovery ride. My right foot hurts, may have to take tomorrow off of running as well and get some acupuncture. |

| Biking only; the foot hurts and didn't want to run. Had some acupuncture, so it should be good to go soon. |

Easy miles, plus a very short bike ride. Splits: 9:42, 9:57, 8:56, 9:08, 9:42, 8:34, 8:36. These splits really reflect how tired my legs are from Saturday's race! I don't feel tired, but this effort, especially at the beginning really shows some fatigue. I think this is one of the best ways to see if I'm rested; watch the natural progression to speedier "easy" miles. My goal is to get back to "rested" status by Saturday's longer run.

| Easy run this morning showed some improvement in fatigue; splits were 9:02, 8:50, 8:34, and 9:06, with AP of 8:51. Much more normal. Followed the run with yoga class. It has been a few weeks since my last class, and it was mentally challenging, but felt really great on tight IT bands and hamstrings. Had a snack and headed to my swimming lesson, but I got a call on the way saying it was canceled. I was secretly relieved, since I really wanted to ride my bike. It is sunny, and I don't want to spend one sunny minute indoors in the pool. Time for that in the winter, I think! Bike ride was fun!

A beautiful morning! We seem to be through the cool, grey patch and back to blue skies with little drifty white clouds and sunshine. Gotta love this while it lasts. Tempo interval run this morning. 5X6 minute intervals, with 90 second RI in between. I kept it all trail, because its more fun that way! Target mile pace is 7:38, actual paces were 7:34, 7:23, 7:38, 7:38, 7:56. I feel completely recovered from Saturday's race! This is progress for me, since it is the first time I have ever recognized that I am recovering from anything. This time, I accepted it, and kept my running sane, and now I feel great! 20 miler on Saturday. Wow! Great bike ride tonight. Much longer and faster than I would have chosen on my own, but I was riding with my bike club, and you never know who will show up for these things! There were five of us, and noone really wanted to go "easy". Super fun anyway! I cannot GET enough food to refuel right now.

| The goal today was to do a "recovery" long run. I was going to run 6 miles at easy, then 6 at marathon pace, then six at easy. I ended up running 7 at easy (9:30, 9:01, 8:53, 8:53, 8:52, 8:54, 8:58). Then, the partner that I was running with for the first six wanted to push the marathon pace faster than I did, so I dropped back a bit and let him go, while waiting for the next group to catch up to me. My split was 8:58, and it took them a mile to catch up. I did my MP miles with this small group, splits were 8:49, 8:40, 8:41, 8:155, 8:55, and 8:31. About mile 11, I took a second GU, and by mile 12.5, I threw up - twice. No more GU for me. My next three splits were very easy: 10:48, 10:39, and 8:34. I walked a bit in those first two, then obviously I felt better. Last three were 10:36, 10:40, and 9:44. Not bad for a recovery run, I guess, but I wish the marathon pace miles had been faster, and I wish I had not got sick. That has never happened to me before! It is suddenly quite hot here also, 80 plus by the time we finished. That is hot for us!
