I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Ouch!  Not enough sleep and a damp and cold early morning.  Somehow the dampness makes it seem soooo much colder outside.  Needed to hit the track by 5:15 to get to yoga by 7:00.  WU, then tempo intervals of five minutes.  Tempo pace is 7:38; intervals were 7:36, 7:25, 7:44, and 7:38.  This is perfect enough for me.  Except for the third one, where I was whining in my head and pretending that I couldn't do it.  I am such a baby sometimes.  It was great to finish and get to yoga.

Now its sunny out and I want to go for a bike ride, but must do some work and wait for the fuel to kick in, as I'm EXTREMELY tired.

PM update:  Luckily, the fuel kicked in and I got my work done, and it was still SUNNY!  Nice longish bike ride, man was I trashed by the end!

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that I signed up for the Chicago Marathon on 10/10/10.

Intervals, especially intervals alone, can be pretty tough, so congrats on getting them done.

Hitting the track at 5:15 definitely leads to tiredness, unless you're much better and getting to bed early than I am.

I just checked. Total sleep time 5 1/2 hours. There's your problem.

Nice workout. Are those 1/2 marathon tempo paces?

From auntieem on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 18:20:32 from 24.17.177.218

Carolyn: Yes, the lack of sleep last is a problem. I will make up for it tonight.

JD: I don't know what my 1/2 marathon pace is supposed to be right now! Marathon pace is 8:10.

From Smooth on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 18:39:35 from 174.23.232.65

WOW! That's EARLY track workout! You're amazing!!! AWESOME tempo pace!

Chicago on 10/10/10...COOL!!! Are you shooting for sub 3:30? 8:10 mp puts you around 3:33ish?

From Smooth on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 18:42:37 from 174.23.232.65

Did I ever mention YOU ARE FAST?!!! I'm in AWE!!! :)

From auntieem on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 19:09:50 from 24.17.177.218

Smooth: I think there is a big difference between marathon pace and actual marathon performance! I had not done the math, so I didn't know 8:10 was a 3:30. I am not by any means an experienced marathoner and my first one was much much slower than that. Thanks!

That is a lot of working out today Aunti!

From SnoFlake on Fri, Feb 05, 2010 at 11:22:33 from 24.18.192.33

Nice run! Do you have any goals for Chicago?

From Snoqualmie on Fri, Feb 05, 2010 at 11:39:29 from 24.18.192.33

Chicago???? Wow! What an adventure you will have. I'd love to hear more about how you picked Chicago. And of course you'll have to watch Spirit of the Marathon, which takes place there.

OMG! I thought about signing up for Chicago...BUT I want to get my first one under my belt first and I'm sure it will be sold out by then. I shall have to come out and see you! (I'm so close!)
