Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

Indoor track at downtown Y.  2 mile warm-up.  3 miles hard in 18:45.  3 mile cooldown including 4 sprints.  So my hope is 6:15 pace today makes 6:50 pace on Saturday feel easy.

Good luck this weekend - that's a blazing fast 3 miles; I think you might surprise yourself and do a little better than 1:30, even on a tough course.

I hope you are right, but, in all reality, it was 3 fast miles on a flat track in air conditioning. The course, the Topeka to Auburn half-marathon--I should try and post it, it boast three very large climbs, including a 170 foot monster in the middle. There is, however, some downhill on the other side of those climbs so you never know. maybe, just maybe, if my head is in the right place

170 feet sounds terrible. I just looked....wow. Everyone thinks Kansas and Oklahoma are so flat, but the rollers never end! And why do they make it net uphill?? At least go Auburn to Topeka instead...

Yay April....as I recall...THAT 3 mile time is faster than any of the ones you did before your STELLAR sub3!! Woo HOO!! Good luck tomorrow!!! Will be thinking of you!!
