Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

I sort of pieced this run together.  Started a load of laundry, ran 25 minutes, cycled laundry, ran 35 minutes, cycled laundry, drove to Nancy's and ran 6 miles with or so miles with her and her kids in a stroller.  50 degrees outside today!!

I weighed today.  Yikes!  Went to the downtown Y with Mom, 6 miles at 6:40 pace then 20 minutes of core.  I am ready to get back on the eating-right train....

I got on the home treddy and made it happen. I did not want to, tired, no motivation, but once I got going I felt much better.  I turned into a little mini workout to make the time pass.  15 minute warm up slow, then 5x 1 min on/0ff at 6:00 pace, 5 minutes at 6:18 pace, 3 minute jog, 5 x 1on/off again, cooldown to 6.  Now I'm going to a party, without a kid, a rare thing in my world.  I rarely have adult time--will be nice!

Beautiful winter wonderland run on the rails to trails with a great group.  We had coffee and Panera afterward.  Another one of those days when I am struck by the fact that I have the best friends this world could offer.

30 degrees and a little breezy, not too bad--out into the sunshine again.  Ran 3 fast then was over it and jogged the rest.  feeling good despite being a bit sluggish and fat from all the fudge....  Not too stressed about it--enjoying the holiday month!  I am out of the abyss baby!

Tired and sluggish between shifts, but as always, felt much better as the run went on.

And so, hibernation is over.  The new training push returns.  I feel rested and have had my full satisfaction of laziness and junk food and holiday enjoyment, and I enjoyed every bit of it, but am ready to throw myself back into the pursuit of being  a lean, mean, running machine.  Ran 8 by the river than 30 minutes of core at the Y, planning on 5 more easy this evening.  Life is good y'all!!

pre-work:  5 more ez through the 217

Tired between shifts but had errands to run. Had enough time for 11 before getting Mini, was super zombie running at first but sailing and on top of the world as always at the end. Another glorious day in which I have chosen to to believe the Lies of the Deceiver.

Yowza. I partied too hard last night. Slid into the indoor track with vanessa in kidzone, but it is 6 laps to a mile, not bad. Launched straight into 1.5 miles in 9:40, half mile jog, 1 mile in 6:20, half mile jog, then 8 x 1 lap on/off around 5:30 pace, cooled down to make 7 miles then did a little core.

Core work and some 7ish minute miles on the indoor track at the Y with Jarrod.  I'm gonna run a half marathon on Wednesday, the "Hangover Half", after working all night.  Will be a good fitness ruler and starting point, although I know it won't be particularly fast because I have been slaaaacking, but slacking has been good, and my mind is good, and my spriits are high.

Tried to get a little sleep before work tonight but mostly failed.  Hit the treadmill for speedwork, I had a tiny window of time before work.  Warmed up 1/2 mile then did 4 x 800 at 5:56 pace with 400 recovery followed by 4x400 at 5:56 pace with 400 recovery and cooldown to 6 miles. Not much, just hoping to create the illusion that 6:45 pace is easy in case this delusion that I have clung to enough fitness to run a sub 1:30 half on Wednesday holds any water.  Doubtful, truly, but I'm gonna at least try. Nothing wrong with a little reality check, I know I've been lazy.  It does feel good to feel myself getting back into the training mode mindset.  5:56 really didn't feel hard aerobically but my legs are weak.
