Rough tempo run this morning.  I had no energy during the tempo miles.  Started with 3 easy miles where my ankle was more sore than it has been.  Ran 4 miles at LT pace.  Splits were: 6:30, 6:20, 6:27, 6:30.  Second mile felt good (obviously) but the others where really rough.  I really had to concentrate to maintain the pace and it was a lot more work than it should have been.  I guess it is just one of those days.

Wow I hope your ankle feels better soon. What is the next race you have planned?

My next race is the Top of Utah half on Aug 29. The ankle is mostly a nuisance and the only issue is it makes my calf hurt.

Tough miles were you are able to maintain goal pace make you mentally tougher for race day. Nice job.

GREAT effort in focus with these tough tempo miles. They are so consistent!!! You're doing awesome! Not easy blocking out the calf pain caused by ankle issue. GOOD LUCK with the training next two weeks into the TOU1/2.

Bummer about the ankle and calf. Keep at it.

Wish I could run even one of your tempo miles!!

You are so tough! (Physically and mentally.)

Good job! I felt the same way yesterday. Isn't it funny how tempo runs often feel so much harder than a race, where the race is at a faster pace?
