So, I finally got sucked into the whole"blogging" community. I have been running 5 miles a day since the beginning of December. Thought maybe this would help my times get a little faster, although I really only run for fun and weight loss! Today I got up and ran 4.5 on the treadmill with little girls watching TVand a sick baby crying- had to cut it a little short.

Welcome to the blog! How fun to have another running widow on the blog. Great job at Painters, too--that's quite an improvement!

Welcome to the blog. I've been trying to get my wife on, she has been doing 30 minutes a day on the treadmill for the last two weeks, but she isn't ready to start blogging I guess.

Anyway, thanks for being so supportive and allowing Dave to come and run with us.

Dave drove me out 5 miles and I ran back through Middleton home. Pretty good run and great weather. Ended up with avg pace of 11:35, which is faster than I go on the treadmill. Quite a few more hills than the 1% incline on the treadmill!

I am not really ready for track. This years tract season is going be weird, bceause I work. So I can only stay the whole practice three out of the five days. I don't know what I want to throw yet and if I want to do the mile and two mile. I don't really like running in cycles.

Anything worth having is hard to get! But nothing is better than finally getting it. Your results will come! I feel the same way, especially when I run with Dave, you know slow. But then when I compare my results to 7-8 months prior, it's pretty cool. Hang in there, you are building a good foundation to put those new results on! I had a fun time running this race. I decided I like 10k's better than 5k's. My splits were 1, 10:00/2, 11:15/3,10:46/4,11:08/5,11:44/6,10:55.  I got under the time that I wanted, so that was good. Dave came back and ran with me from about 4.5 to the finish. That helped alot (mostly because I couldn't walk as much as I wanted to!) I felt really good, and the new songs I added to my ipod sure did help. I really liked the aid stations. The only way those could have been better is if they had a Diet Coke for me!

Just get that guy better...Sorry to hear that he has pneumonia. That's pretty crazy. Anyways I beat you to the Dr. Pepper taste test. I normally don't drink soda but Mik'L's mom had one at her house and I tried a mouth full...

Not bad at all. It's only flaw is that it's diet. The diet left the rotten after taste, but if your a diet fan you might like it.

so, just as I am increasing my miles, I get a dumb injury (I guess you can call it that!) I am taking a WSI class so I can teach swimming lessons again this summer (I taught last summer but I wasn't certified) The class started yesterday afternoon and goes for 2 weeks. I took the class 11 years ago in high school, so I am the oldest in the class, but at least I am a good swimmer! Anyway, we swam laps yesterday and I totally jacked up the back/ side of my knee. It hurt really bad last night and this morning so I am not going to run today. Hopefully it will cooperate tonight at my class and i can run again tomorrow.I have been wintercresting it up all day. That 7 miler  yesterday and swimming for 2 hours did me in!

James came back after his big win, and ran with me the last .5. Thank you James. That really helped me. I finished about 3 minutes faster than the spectrum a few months ago. I really like doing 10ks. Good job in getting four in when you didn't want to run at all! I'm sure you feel some great satisfaction in getting four more than most of the world's people out there!

From wildbull on Wed, May 28, 2008 at 12:25:56

I like running on treadmills when the weather isn't so great. It just always seems that I've run farther than I have. But thats cool that you can find the energy to do that.

From Kim on Sat, Jun 07, 2008 at 21:32:50

Even with low energy this week you still got four days in! Have a nice rest day and then good luck with a new week!
