This was a great trail run. I didn't start to walk the steep inclines until after 10mi. Last week I was dying at mi 8 and just barely made 10. I did start earlier, which helped and I had plenty of water, gatorade, GU Brew, and GU Chomps. No injuries, although I did hit a few stumps and stepped on a couple of rocks, but no bruises or painful spots on my feet. This was a very successful distance trail run. I'm already feeling better about my 50k trail run in October. Single track technical trail running is much harder endurance wise than road running (at the same distance), but its a little easier on the leg muscles. I feel a little sore all over, but no pain concentrated at a single muscle group. I'll be ready to run again tomorrow. |
