This was a great trail run.  I didn't start to walk the steep inclines until after 10mi.  Last week I was dying at mi 8 and just barely made 10.  I did start earlier, which helped and I had plenty of water, gatorade, GU Brew, and GU Chomps.  No injuries, although I did hit a few stumps and stepped on a couple of rocks, but no bruises or painful spots on my feet.  This was a very successful distance trail run.  I'm already feeling better about my 50k trail run in October.  Single track technical trail running is much harder endurance wise than road running (at the same distance), but its a little easier on the leg muscles.  I feel a little sore all over, but no pain concentrated at a single muscle group.  I'll be ready to run again tomorrow.

Sounds great! Good luck with your training for the 50K. That's exciting.

Scott, how do you like your Brooks Cascadia? I rolled my ankle in my Salomon Speedcross 2 trail shoes because the heel is too high. I love my New Balance Trail Minimus, but the trail I run on is rocky and there are small root stumps everywhere. I've already bruised my foot pretty bad which caused me to miss my run the next day. I'm looking for something in between. Thanks.
