I got up at 4:15 am to meet Big foot!  did our usual 3 mile warm up  then picked up the pace.   started out around 6:18 pace.  and  ranged  to 6:40 pace for the next 5 miles.  stayed ahead of mike for the first 2 then he passed me.   he looked strong all the way to the end of the tempo!   i kept trying to tell myself to relax and don;t let my body tell me i was tired.  I have alot of work to do to get back into racing shape.    I did some good stretching last night   and i think it made a difference in todays run. i felt much better.  more flexible.

What route did you guys run?

From Bill on Wed, Feb 09, 2011 at 11:29:43 from 168.179.180.76

We run the same route up to sunset but we run down to dixie drive by mcdonalds and go down from there past the dealerships to main street back to the rec center. We were done by 6:20 that leaves you plenty of time to get back!!!

Ok, I will have to give it some thought. However, I think I would want to go down that first road like we used to do, instead of running down to McDonald's.

Right now I have my schedule set to do tempo on Mondays and Speedwork on Wednesday's, but I could probably change those around.

Of course my biggest issue is getting up and out of a warm bed to go run outside when it is dark and cold. I'm just a wuss.

We decided it was a more honest route. less down Hill.. Getting up in the morning in my problem as well. if it were not for mike i would be sleeping in as well!!

Probably not bad at 5 am, but how was the traffic? That would be my only concern with doing tempo on Sunset.

There is some downhill still isn't there? What was the total distance back to the park?
